PARISH BUILDINGS MAINTENANCE FUND
One of our primary financial responsibilities as a Catholic community is the upkeep of our various Parish buildings.
We are greatly blessed in this Parish with very good plant but we do need to keep this ‘up to spec’ as the years go by.
Surveys of the properties take place every five years in an effort to ascertain the works (maintenance and renewal) that need to be undertaken and rough ‘ball park figures’ as to how much these are likely to cost.
To help to fund these costs we have a ‘Buildings Maintenance Fund’ Retiring Collection approximately once a month which, since starting, during 2023 has raised £1,589:39 so far.
Having made the decision to deal with the church building ‘top down’ there are a series of minor roof repairs that we have been recommended to undertake and, with the aid of the diocesan buildings surveyor, are getting quotations for these works (which will necessitate scaffolding the main building for the works).
Please do make an effort to support this weekend’s Retiring Collection
